Technical specifications
The Nintendo Switch will have an internal memory of 32GB expandable via microSDXC. As rumored, the screen will be multitouch capacitive 6.2 inches with a resolution of 1280 X 720.
In the matter of autonomy will have to pay attention, since Nintendo does not specify the capacity of the batteries of the console or Joy-Con, only mentions for example that in general will have a maximum of 6 hours but will depend on the game. In the case of ‘The Legend of Zelda’ we will have a range of about 3 hours with a single charge, as they specify. The battery will charge through a USB type C cable.
Among the modes that will be available for the console we will find the ‘tabletop mode’ that turns the console on screen; The ‘TV mode’ that as its name indicates is to play on the TV; And the ‘handheld mode’ which is a kind of portable console with the controls connected to the screen. Up to eight consoles can be connected via WiFi for multiplayer games.
Joy-Con, the new controls of Nintendo
Each Joy-Con, that is the side controls that separate from the console, has an accelerometer and sensors, and we can use each command individually. These knobs will also be sold separately and will be available in blue and red colors. In addition, the Joy-Con camera features infrared sensor.
It should be noted that each Joy-Con has a lot of buttons, among which one is dedicated to screenshots, directional sticks, and even LEDs. Nintendo here has thought about the potential of the Joy-Con and has created games that take advantage of its characteristics, as it happened at the time with the Wiimotes.
Each Joy-Con control will have a dimension of 102 x 35.9 x 28.4 millimeters, weighing approximately 49.3 grams for the left handle, and 52.2 grams for the right. Good news is that both Joy-Con will have rechargeable battery, but without knowing the autonomy.
