GoPro is presented its first drone Karma, with whom want your cameras stop relying on other manufacturers in order to have a whole recording system integrated with which we can do aerial shots and even ground thanks to the ability to remove the stabilizer.
GoPro is turning to the idea of drone as a tool to place it in the center of the action, since the idea is to make it part of our activities but without making an additional load of equipment, since from the backpack to its components, everything is portable and can be loaded into a backpack.
Folding, with 4K, removable stabilizer and remote controller
Karma is presented as a quadcopter with clamshell design that can carry in a backpack without problems, backpack which of course includes not only the drone, but also a driver clamshell with which we will operate remotely Karma, this controller features his own touch screen 5 inches (720p) that will allow us to activate many functions as well as a pair of joysticks to control the flight of the aircraft and the position in which the camera is pointing.
The drone has a size open 303 x 411 x 117 mm with a weight of 1006 grams. Its maximum speed is 56 km / h , a maximum altitude of 4,500 meters, and operates under the frequency of 2.4 GHz at a maximum distance of 1000 meters.
Karma is compatible with the new GoPro cameras, the HERO5 Black and HERO5 Session, plus so we can use with the Silver and Black Hero4.
An interesting part of the design of Karma is that it integrates a gimbal three axes at the front who is responsible for giving stability to the camera, but this stabilizer can be removed and used separately with a cane called Karma Grip or, connect to one of the straps of the backpack, so the stabilization system is available at any time for various scenarios.

If we look at the spec sheet we see that Karma integrates a 5100mAh rechargeable battery, resulting in only 20 minutes flight, fortunately the battery is removable and can be charged separately in one hour by GoPro. Remember that both the Grip as the controller integrated battery so it will be necessary to be the slope of autonomy, the good news here is that the same integrated charger serves for all three devices. Grip autonomy is only 1.75 hours, loaded in two hours, while the battery will last us Controller 4 hours, and charged in 2.5 hours.
The new drone Karma GoPro will go on sale next October 23 at a price of $799 for the kit including the drone in his backpack, with its stabilizer and stick, but if we want the kit drone camera will have to shell $999 for having a HERO5 Session, or $1099 for the HERO5 Black.
